Kelly Smith is a marketing strategist, website designer, and host of the Marketing Chat Podcast. Additionally, Kelly is the author of The Podcast Launch Playbook and the founder of the Women Podcasters Academy.
Kelly’s journey that led her to start her business
Before getting into business, Kelly was a stay-at-home mom. She married immediately after college and stayed home with her two daughters. After separating from her husband, she started marketing and consulting for a DNA company in Huston.

How she found out she had bipolar disorder
Kelly was seventeen when she had her first bipolar breakdown. She had not been sleeping for several weeks and had no idea what was happening to her. At first, Kelly blamed it on the pressure she was getting from her dad, who wanted her to go to Harvard.

Her experience with hypomania
At [10:31], Kelly shares that in 2014 when she had hypomania, she was very productive. During this period, she wrote a book, did the cover design, and published it in a month. After writing her book, she got crushed but didn’t understand what was happening to her.

Accepting her condition
At [14:36], Kelly shares that for her to become stable, she had to accept that she would be on medication for the rest of her life and worked through the necessary mindset shifts.
Did her clients realize that she had a condition?
Kelly shares that she hid her condition from her clients when she was coaching. At times Kelly would reschedule clients, and other times she faked it.

Why she decided to shut down her business
