Karianne Munstedt is a portrait photographer and a body acceptance and self-love coach.
Why she left her corporate job
Before moving into photography and coaching, Karianne was in a corporate job for seventeen years. However, even though she was doing well in corporate, she found it soul-sucking.

Society has conditioned us to think that having a big body is “bad”. We tend to perceive having a big body as a sign of bad eating habits and lack of exercise, which is not true.

Do you need to lose weight before going for a photo session?
Karianne says we don’t need to lose the pounds before going to a photoshoot. We can show up just as our bodies are and be photographed beautifully.
Karianne emphasizes that photography is about bringing the person on the inside out in pictures because when that happens, we don’t see the outside anymore; we just see the person that we are.

Her experience with her body changes
When growing up, Karianne had a trim body because she copied her mom, who was always dieting. When she was about twenty-two years old, she was sexually assaulted.
This changed her eating habits in an attempt to cope with the emotional distress and caused her to gain weight.
She hated her body after gaining weight, but over the years, she worked on herself and shifted how she saw her body. To hear more, go to [18:24].
