Emily’s military life and freelance journey
At [01:19], Emily shares that she has moved twelve times in 19 years, and as a result, she has never had a job for more than eighteen months.
She realized she was pregnant with her first kid during her first week working in her dream job. Because her husband was always training in the military, she could not manage to raise her child alone while doing the 9-5 job.
After staying in the job for eighteen months, she left and moved to freelance.
How she managed to run her business with her kids when her husband was deployed
During the first six years of her marriage, they did not have kids because her husband’s deployments were constantly separating them.
The most challenging separation was the recent deployment when she had four kids. Emily shares that trying to run her business and raise her four kids alone during her husband’s deployment was difficult, and she had to get help.

How frequent movements impacted her kids’ schooling
Because of the frequent movements, she was worried about her kids’ education.

Her husband’s anxiety and depression
Emily shares that her husband developed anxiety and depression while working for a horrific and hostile General. This sent her into panic mode because it happened when she was pregnant with her fourth child and needed to pause her business.
She had to work with a therapist, which was helpful because she was able to explode her business growth and did not allow what she was going through stop her from taking care of her kids.
