What she was doing before she moved into business
Before moving into business, Ellyse was a teacher for six years. When her first child was born, she started transitioning to business because it was hard to be a teacher and support her family at the same time.

Ellyse started the virtual assistance business in May 2018 while on maternity leave with her second child. It took her two years to build up the income she needed in order to quit her 9-5 job.

Why she left her 9-5 job

Running her business with her kids
Ellyse decided to focus fully on business in the year 2020. At this time, she had two kids and was pregnant with her third kid. Since running a business with her kids was challenging, she agreed with her daycare provider to have her kids go to daycare for two days a week.

The hardest part of running a business with your kids
Ellyse explains that the most challenging part of running a business with your kids is the uncertainty that comes with doing both. Sometimes she feels she is not doing her business well enough, and sometimes she is not doing her parenting well enough.
