While working in corporate, Alecia was diagnosed with RA. Since it was difficult to manage the pain, she went on disability leave.
She started blogging about various topics such as; recipes, ways to be productive at home, and how her RA affected her on a daily basis as a parent.
She later started working for a distribution company that had a flexible schedule that enabled her to work as she managed her RA condition. However, during that time, she divorced her husband, and as a result, she had to stay home to take care of her kids, pushing her to build a business.
