How Kelsey Started Her Business (01:36)
Kelsey started her business when she was in grad school while pursuing her undergraduate degree in graphic design. She started her first blog and was freelancing as a graphic designer back in 2011.
Later, she ended up building a web design agency when she was getting her Master’s degree. However, Kelsey admits that though she was getting a substantial income, she was not ready to do it full-time at that point.
So, she went into corporate and worked with Hallmark as a stationery and sticker designer. Kelsey worked there for three years while building her business as a side hustle.
By this time, she knew that it could sustain her, and she took it full time in 2016.
When Kelsey Discovered The Feminine Energy (06:48)
Initially, Kelsey barely knew about feminine and masculine energy, and she did things in the feminine energy space without knowing it. She would have internal merit that she was meant to do something and follow it without allowing things to get in the way.
Kelsey also explains her intuition to go to grad school, and despite not having adequate resources, she knew she had to go. By allowing things to happen and flow, she was able to achieve her dream through a scholarship at Savannah College of Art and Design.
She also applied for a job to work in their athletic department, which paid for her school. Kelsey graduated debt-free, and according to her, when you follow that knowing and intuition in your heart, things will just work out.
For her, she knew that what she was meant to do, and she was willing to take any to make it work. Reflecting back, this was feminine energy working for her.
How Kelsey Identify With Feminine Energy (10:49)
Once she learned about feminine energy, she started seeking more of it and implemented it in her life and business. Kelsey grew her agency to a point where she could go for maternity leave and have her team handle the majority of the tasks for her.
At this time, she had a lot of free time, and she enrolled in a certification program to become a life coach. According to her, this was not all about becoming a coach.
She wanted more of what her friend was doing in coaching, the feminine energy.
Kelsey enrolled in her program and got deeper into subconscious reprogramming and feminine energy. From that, her online coaching business was born.Kelsey doesn’t prefer using strategy.
She relies more on what is coming up and what she thinks is best; feminine energy.
Building A Business From The Masculine And Feminine Energetic Side (14:35)
From Kelsey’s perspective, we live in a masculine, energy-based society, and following a list or a strategy is the norm. Many people go towards masculine energy, making it harder to follow feminine energy, especially in business.
Kelsey says she is a feeling-sensitive individual, and she always chooses what is best instead of what strategically makes more sense. The feminine side is deeper and more emotional.
You have to spend some time digging into yourself and doing the inner work. There is no guide or roadmap to follow, which is completely the opposite of the masculine side.
Routine Practices That can Help You Tap Into The Feminine Energy (17:03)
Kelsey tries to journal every day, sometimes it’s not fun, but she forces herself to do it. She does this to get deeper and find things that might not have been uncovered.
She also does meditation on most days which she says is beneficial. Kelsey also works with a self-care coach, and they do breath work together. Breathwork has been a game-changer in her life.
It has helped her to let go of micro-traumas by bringing up these experiences, allowing her to go through them, get to the root of the problems and learn from them. To her, this is like having 100 therapy sessions in 45 minutes.
What A Breathwork Session Looks Like (19:27)
Breathwork is a moving and active meditation. According to Kelsey, the science behind it is hyperoxygenation. The process allows you to get out of your head for your body to take over.
The session lasts for 38 minutes, and everybody has their own unique experience. For her, getting all the energy out is sometimes an intensive experience.
However, after every session, Kelsey walks away feeling calm and with some answers, realizations, or the next step on what she is working on.
How COVID-19 Pandemic Affected Kelsey’s Business And Personal Life (22:47)
Kelsey’s online business academy programwas just two months when the pandemic hit. She created the online business to help her achieve her goal of working two hours a month only if she needed to. In her agency, she only worked about 15-30 minutes a week.
Working from home was not a new phenomenon for Kelsey, but being home with her husband, who was working remotely in his 9-5, and their son caused her a lot of anxiety. However, she was still able to work and scale her business which she is grateful for.
On the other hand, to adjust to the pandemic, Kelsey had to put on hold some of the growth she wanted to experience in some of the extra things she was doing. She also got more coaches in her business to help her clients and a nanny to take care of her son two days a week while she worked.
Tips On How You Can Tap On The Feminist Energy In Your Business (35:27)
The biggest tool that has worked for Kelsey is meditation. According to her, meditation allows you to tune in to your intuitive energies.
This will help you see the difference between the thoughts programmed in your head versus what your heart or intuition tells you. The next tip that Kelsey shares is finding who the future you is.
Visualize where you want to be a year from now and get clear on it. Then ensure every decision you’re making and what you’re embarking on aligns with what you want in the future.
This will help you get there over time.
To her and her students, this is something they do all the time. At first, it might feel uncomfortable, scary, or weird, but this is because you’re changing physically who you’re and how you make decisions. But this change is what will help you become the future version of yourself.
